Red Chillies Prevent Prostate Cancer

Capsaicin, producing a spicy flavor in cayenne pepper, it can kill prostate cancer cells. Through the examination to obtain evidence of rats, capsaicin causes apoptosis of prostate cancer cells, one type of cancer that most in the suffering of the men in the U.S.. Apoptosis is the process whereby cancer cells self-destruct.

According to researchers at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, USA, the series of tests showed the existence of potential pressure on the growth of cancer cells in humans. "Capsaicin has anti-proliferative effects of very large against prostate cancer cells in humans," said one researcher, Soren Lehman.

Capsaicin can also dramatically slow the formation of prostate tumors by a kind of human cells, which are also grown in mice. To direct the study, researchers fed rats with a spicy flavor-producing alkaloid. The dose, continued Lehman, equivalent to a dose of male with 90 kg of body weight who regularly eat three to eight Habanero extremely spicy chili three times a week.

From there, the team found that capsaicin is mixed with cancer cells can avoid apoptosis, which occurs normally in many network by replacing old cells with new ones. Cancer cells are easily mutated and changed the nature of the plasma carrier to avoid destruction. However, the team also found evidence of several doses of capsaicin cause about 80% of prostate cancer cells leads to apoptosis. This finding raises hope for treatment of prostate cancer each year is estimated to kill 221,000 people
